First off, thanks for coming to this part of my site to find out a little bit more about me.  I decided to add this section of the site after about 2 years because I realized that my blogs didn't not really have a person behind them (as far as most readers could tell).  So, as awkward as talking about myself is, I figured it would help fight the anonymity of the web if nothing else.  So here goes:

Our family at Annual ConferenceMy name is Jeremy LaDuke.  I live in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachia's with my wife Sarah, our daughter Morgan, and two pups and a cat.  I am the associate pastor at Fairview United Methodist Church (since June 07) and the majority of my time is focused upon younger adults and social justice issues.  Sarah and I have been married since May 2003.  We lived in KY for 3.5 years while I attended Asbury Theological Seminary (probably the best seminary ever).

Currently I have been doing alot of thinking about how we do church and how we are called to interact with our culture and change it.  Or how we are to create culture.  For so long our churches have been kept in a bubble of Christianity that does not reflect Jesus as much as would be expected even in this fallen world.  But I feel that there is a movement toward action, towards holiness, and towards a love that is radically lived.  It is my hope to see our churches to embrace Jesus, His Cross, and the people He is found in.  What does that look like?  I don't know yet.  What does it look like in my life?  I am still trying to figure it out!  I know its messy, I know its hard, and I know its good.
