COR13

taking your ministry's site to the next level

:::Server Upgrade

1312 days ago | Comment [2]

We recently upgraded our servers to better serve the ministries we are hosting. While the shared hosting was very affordable we felt that an upgrade to our hosting plan was in order to provide faster page loading and more reliable sites to the ministries and businesses we host. Sites that are already hosted with us will be given the option to continue the hosting free of charge, but any new sites hosted with with us will be charged $5/month to offset the server costs of the upgrade.

:::Take Your Newsletter Online

Save money and reach a wider audience by moving your newsletter online. There are many Newsletter programs that allow you to create a very stylish email newsletter and keep track of all the people you need to send it to. The most widely used program in use is PHPLIST It is a free program that allows you to create unlimited templates. Users can subscribe to your newsletters for free and also unsubscribe at any time.

COR13 offers installation of PHPLIST as well as template design and hosting of the service. You do not even need a website to use this program. This is the perfect way for your church or organization to make that first jump onto the web.

Woodhill Books, a division of Better Publications, inc. has recently joined the COR13 family with their new website at www.betterpublications.com This site uses Mal’s E-commerce, a free ecommerce solution partnering with Paypal, to have a full browsable/searchable catalog of their published works. To update the site Woodhill Books uses Textpattern, an open-source CMS, which was customized by COR13 to meet their needs. Woodhill Books has recently added the Asbury Journal, a Wesleyan scholarly journal, to their family of publications. They also offer a variety of printing services.

:::Project150.org

The newest resource for Christian Music Lovers everywhere is Project150.org This is a site that is comparable to MySpace however it has a considerable difference. The main function of Project150.org is to connect people with Christian bands, venues, and concerts. This is not to promote the popularity of any one band or venue, but rather promote the practice of worship in the many expressions it embodies.

Believers can find concerts, listen to bands and comment on band and venue pages. While this site is currently targeted towards Christians it is hoped that it will be used to introduce others to Jesus and there is a future hope of the site itself targeting unbelievers.

From a technical point of view Project150.org uses extensive PHP programming as well as a customized version of the Textpattern interface. The capabilities of the Project150.org site include searches for bands/venues/concerts in a specific genre or state. Bands and venues can also add pictures, MP3’s, and blogs.

If you happen to know any Christian bands or venues that could benefit from this site please let them know about it.

:::Online Store

1603 days ago | Comment

COR13 now offers an easy to use way to create your own online store. If your youth group needs an easy way to take orders for an upcoming mission trip, or if you sell DVD’s of your services this is a great way to make your products more available. Orders are processed through PayPal or by credit card. Items are added and maintained directly through your Textpattern interface so it as simple as clicking your mouse. This is a great option for bands as well. With iTunes becoming more popular everyday the age of CD’s may be saying farewell. Instead of paying for the cost of producing batches of CD’s you can sell mp3’s directly from your site with no overhead.
